Introducing the man behind the Blue Butterfly
Mathieu Cabar, 24 yo founder and CEO of Morpho, is a dedicated predator angler. Competitor to the core from a young age, he has accumulated an impressive prize list on the French predator angling scene. Mathieu notably won many national titles in the “Float Tube” division before his 20s! He then naturally evolved toward the “boating” division with comparable success, winning the prestigious “National Bass” and “National Zander”. Becoming very early on an ambassador for leading brands of the French and European market, he acquired a comprehensive experience in the design, development and test phases of predator fishing products.
Mathieu then started a new challenge and created his own brand with the leitmotiv “A different approach leads to different results”. Morpho was born.
Beyond offering products of the best possible quality, Morpho‘s goal is to promote, share and transmit a passion for lure fishing in the respect of the fish and their habitat.
Each and every Morpho item derives from countless designs, prototypes and real-life tests in France, mainly in the Pyrenees mountains. To date, the range is mainly focus on trout fishing but may slowly expend toward a more general predator fishing range with one golden rule “premium quality, limited numbers”.
Why we chose Morpho
One thing is for sure, you will recognize a product from Morpho when you see one. Morpho fishing has a very strong visual identity with the extensive use of Abalone shell in most of their line up. But don’t fool yourself, this is not a gimmick. The talented designers at Morpho are deeply convinced that the use of abalone shell in lure design surpasses any artificial colour pattern. Their success in the competitive fishing scene in France, means we can’t help but trust them!
Because they are, or are plated with, a piece of real abalone shell, each and every spoon is UNIQUE. No two are the same.
Moved by a deep ecological consciousness, all the Morpho fishing’s products are delivered without packaging. The only exception is the 100% abalone spoon set, delivered in a reusable metallic box. Beyond the reduced environmental impact, this mat black box carrying the characteristic blue butterfly is actually very stylish.
All our spoons are rigged with premium grade BKK or Vanfook split ring, so you are free to replace the hook.
